Months of friendship, international weeks and easter celebration 🌍

Hello dear reader,
Almost two months ago since we last wrote her. Let´s make you an update about the activities and events that have happened in the class.
During the month of February, we had two important celebrations. First one was grandparents ‘coffee where children spent some time with their grandparents eating snack and playing together. Then the other one was about friendship week. During that week Puffins celebrated it by exchanging cards with Hawks and also between the Puffins, also we had an activity about emotions created by our Erasmus student from Spain Noa and we finished the week with a dance party, we watched a short movie about Bluey and friendship and also with some puppet theatre show done by teachers in which they had emotions and feelings as the main topics of the story. We finished the month by going sledging with Penguins and Parrots and children ate Laskiaispulla due to Laskiaistiistai celebration.

In between celebrations, the children have been practicing their gross and fine motors skills by going weekly to gym going for some walks, playing with sensory bins, water beads and water play. We are so happy with all the progress they are doing.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this blog, we have an Erasmus student from Spain and children have had a lovely time with her. Also as part of her programme, she had to do some activities with the children. One day she created an incredible obstacle course for our weekly gym session and children loved it, they were very involved and really wanted to go with Noa to try the obstacle course. Also, she did another activity about colours monsters and their emotions and children were very focused in participating.

This week we have started our annual international weeks. For now, Coraima has taught us about her home place, the Canary Islands. She showed us a video about the important aspects from the Canary Islands, then she showed us her traditional clothes and also we did some arts and crafts by gluing yellow paper on a printed banana, the typical fruit from the Canary Islands. But in the upcoming days, we will learn more about other places around the world such as CataluĂąa, Ireland, Germany and many more we are looking forward.

After international week, we will jump into easter celebrations. Puffins will be planting some easter grass, decorating easter branches and at the end of it, they will go for an easter hunt.
What great weeks of learning and fun we have ahead. See you soon dear reader!!!
