The Finches have had a lovely few weeks filled with fun activities, creativity, learning and lots of play! We have been enjoying the autumn season while exploring new ideas, developing our skills, and making the most of our time together. Our classroom has been full of creativity as we work on different arts and crafts. Inspired by autumn and the changes we have noticed in nature, we have been painting, cutting, gluing and creating beautiful decorations. We have also been painting the windows and decorating our classroom to bring the autumn feeling indoors. These activities give the children opportunities to use their imagination, express themselves creatively and practice their fine motor skills.
We have also been exploring the animal world through playful learning activities. Using animal figures and picture cards, the children have been matching animals to different habitats, from the farm and the forest to the icy arctic, the desert and the ocean. It has been a fun way to discover where animals live, observe their differences, and learn more about the natural world together. The children have enjoyed using their imagination and sharing their ideas as they brought the different animals’ environments to life.
One of the loveliest things to see is how much the friendships among the Finches are growing. The children are becoming more comfortable with one another, sharing ideas, helping each other and finding new ways to play together. There are more moments of cooperation, kindness, and laughter throughout the day. It is wonderful to see these friendships develop naturally through everyday play and shared experiences.
We have also enjoyed spending time outdoors. The children have been exploring the forest, playing different game and enjoying the fresh autumn air. They have also been helping to tidy up our downstairs yard using rakes to put the leaves away.
Indoors, there has been plenty of time for games, free play and imaginative adventures. Role play continues to be a favourite, giving the children opportunities to create their own stories, communicate with one another and enjoy playing together.
Our pajama day brought another special moment to the group. We had fun baking “pigs in blanket”, an easy recipe to make all together. It was lovely to see the children taking part in the baking process and enjoying the experience.
we also started the exciting and long waited ice-skating season. The Finches had a great time on the ice, trying out their skills and enjoying these special seasonal activities. Everyone had lots of fun and we are already looking forward to our next skating session.
Our Halloween party was a great success! We enjoyed lots of fun activities and one of the highlights was making a magical spell. The children were fascinated by the activity and absolutely loved seeing the magical spell result! There was lot of excitement, curiosity and laughter throughout the celebration.
We have also been busy finishing our Father’s Day arts and crafts. The children have put lots of creativity and care into making their special gifts and it has been lovely to see their excitement as they complete their creations. We are now looking forward to our Fathers’ day coffee and celebrating this special occasion together.
It has been a wonderful time filled with creativity, discovery, friendship and new experiences. We are very happy to see the Finches learning, growing and building stronger friendships everyday.
