As we approach the end of the year, Preschool Owls is taking a moment to reflect on just how much joy, discovery, and growth these past months have brought. Our days have been filled with curiosity, creativity, movement, and memorable experiences that have made this year truly special.
Exploring Habitats: A Journey Through Nature
In the last few months, we’ve been deeply engaged in our topic of habitats. The children explored where different animals live, what they need to survive, and how each environment is unique. To bring our learning to life, we visited local museums and the library, giving the children hands-on opportunities to see real specimens, pictures, and stories that sparked even more questions and excitement.
Learning on Ice: Skating Sessions
One of the most exciting additions to our routine this season was our skating sessions. The Owls embraced the challenge with enthusiasm—practicing balance, coordination, and resilience on the ice. Their confidence grew with each session, and it was wonderful to see them cheer one another on as they mastered new skill.
Celebrating Together: A Magical Christmas Party, Santa’s Special Visit, and Fun with Families
One of the highlights of the season was our Christmas party, made even more special by the presence of our wonderful parents who joined us for the celebration. The room was glowing with warm Christmas lights and cheerful decorations that the children helped create, turning our space into a festive wonderland.
Families moved from station to station, enjoying a variety of fun games and activities together. There was plenty of laughter, excitement, and joyful energy as everyone participated and shared in the moment. The children also sang songs for their parents, filling the room with music and pride. These performances created truly heartwarming memories for all of us.
To complete the celebration, we welcomed a magical visit from Santa Claus himself. The children’s faces lit up with delight as Santa greeted them, making the day unforgettable. It was a beautiful celebration of community, togetherness, and holiday spirit—one we will cherish for a long time
A Trip to Raatikko Theatre
We also had the opportunity to visit Raatikko for a theatre performance, giving the children a chance to experience storytelling in a vibrant, engaging way. Theatre always brings the imagination alive, and this visit was no exception.
