Hello dear reader,
Some weeks ago, we left you with a sneak peek about all the events and activities that were planned for the Puffins. And OMG, children have been very busy doing many things every week, but let me tell you, they have had a lot of fun and learning. 😊
Right after parents’ coffee, we had the coziest day: Pyjama Day. For that day, Puffins and teachers were wearing their pajamas and they spent the whole morning indoors doing calm and enjoyable activities. Children played with beads trying to find the hidden animals, explored with sand and paint in a ziploc over the light box, blowing bubbles, watching a small cartoon video; and ending the day with a special pancake for snack. As you can see, Puffins were immersed in the best day ever having so much fun, but as everything in life, the day had some learning too. They were practicing their fine motor skills, concentration as well as eye-hand coordination. Since the season changed, we wanted to give a big welcome to Autumn. Therefore, we decided to do some activities such as gluing real leaves on a paper to create a tree and gluing family photos on our family tree. Both activities turned out very beautiful and we used them to decorate our walls, the class looked so lovely!!. Nevertheless, we all know that there is not October without Halloween, and Puffins were involved in activities related to it that later on would be the decorations for the class. Then we did activities such as drawing a monster by splashing paint, sticking cotton on a contact paper to create a ghost and of course dressing up with Halloween costumes for Halloween party.
Alongside with the Halloween preparations, we had a beautiful and colorful Indian celebration called Diwali. This festivity is considered the most important festival in India, being known as the festival of lights. For this important date, the children wore colorful clothes, dance to some Indian songs as well as watched some videos about the important aspects of Diwali celebration. Later on, it was Halloween day and Puffins had so much fun. Firstly, the class was all decorated with different Halloween decorations such as colorful monsters, bats, spider webs, etc. as well as the children were wearing their cute Halloween costumes and had a dance party alongside playing with balloons and bubbles.
Right after the spooky celebration, Puffins were immersed in a new activity: the preparation of gifts for Father´s day. For this day, children painted a card and a magnet that later they would give to their fathers when we celebrated the father´s coffee. This was an event that Puffins enjoyed a lot since they had the chance to play and eat some yummy snack together. It wasn´t only an activity that children loved since they were gifts for their parents but also it was a great opportunity for them to practice different skills such as eye-hand coordination, following instructions as well as practicing their fine motor skills by holding painting brushes.
Mid-November arrived and Photo day came with it. For this day, Puffins wore their cutest clothes to take group and individual photos for the academic year of 2025-2026. It was a new experience for all of them so children were very excited, nervous as well as not aware of what was really happening; however with the support of the teachers and the great photographer we had, Puffins were able to take incredible photos. We are so proud of their little achievement and of course we are looking forward to see how the photos have turned out!!!
Finally, in case you are wondering what´s on Puffins´agenda for the rest of the month as well as for December, here is a sneak peek: children will explore the world of sounds, music and sensory game through activities such as creating instruments, guessing sounds, movements through music, etc. For December, Christmas season will come and Puffins will have a wonderful Christmas calendar with activities and events each day.
