The year 2026 has already been full of excitement and meaningful learning in our preschool! We have been enjoying our time both indoors and outdoors, making the most of every opportunity to explore, discover, and grow together.
We recently wrapped up our fascinating Habitats topic. The children loved learning about different environments, the animals that live in them, and how living things depend on their surroundings. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored the natural world.
Now, we have begun a brand-new and very important topic: How to Take Care of Our Nature. This topic has sparked many thoughtful conversations in our classroom. We have been learning about recycling, how to sort trash correctly, and how to reuse materials instead of throwing them away. The children were especially excited to discover the meaning of the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Through hands-on activities and discussions, they are beginning to understand how small actions can make a big difference for our planet.
What makes this topic even more special is how it connects across different learning areas. In math, the children practice sorting and counting recyclable materials. During language activities, they are learning new vocabulary and sharing their ideas about caring for the environment. In science, they are discovering how recycling helps protect nature. Through arts and crafts, they are creating beautiful projects using reused materials, turning everyday items into something creative and meaningful.
To deepen our learning, we visited our local library and borrowed books related to caring for the environment. The preschoolers truly enjoyed exploring these stories and discovering new ideas about protecting our Earth. It has been a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about reusing and respecting nature from an early age.
Of course, learning isn’t only happening inside the classroom! Our outdoor activities have been just as joyful. The children have had so much fun skiing and sledging, enjoying the fresh air and winter landscape. These experiences remind us how important it is to care for our environment so we can continue to enjoy it.
2026 has started in the best possible way — full of learning, laughter, exploration, and care for the world around us. We are so proud of our preschoolers and their growing understanding of how they can help take care of our beautiful planet.
We look forward to many more exciting adventures ahead!
