The Finches had a wonderful time the past few weeks, full of learning, fun, and special celebration together! We started by exploring our classroom theme- Animals from around the world. The Finches were very interested in learning about endangered animals and discovering how we can help protect animals and our planet.
One of the highlights was the exciting “pets on wheels” show. Everyone loved meeting the different animals, learning new facts about them, watching them closely, and gently petting/ stroking them. It was a very special experience for all the Finches.
We also celebrated World Book day. The Finches enjoyed visiting the library, choosing new books and sharing their favourite story book from home. We were also very happy to welcome a parent who came to read a lovely story to the classroom.
The beautiful Spring weather has also been giving us many opportunities to enjoy outdoor play and fun games together.
Another exciting experience was watching the theatre play “Cold paws, Warm Heart “. The Finches enjoyed the story very much and had fun taking part in activities related to the play afterwards.
During the week, we also had a special music lesson with music teacher where the Finches had the chance to try playing the violin!
We celebrated Vapuu with a fantastic party. The Finches came in costumes, danced together and enjoyed delicious donuts homemade by Eija.
We also had a lovely celebration for Mother’s Day and enjoyed spending special moments together with all the mums.
The Finches were very excited for their first bike ride of the season. We practiced important road safety rules and had lots of fun riding together outdoors.
After reading the story “Blueberry cake “, the Finches decided to bake a delicious blueberry pie to share with the Albatross teachers.
Finally, we celebrated an amazing Sports day with all the families. The Finches became wonderful helpers while preparing decorations and activities. Big round of applause to all the Finches and families for make this special day joyful and memorable for everyone.
For the end of the academic year, the Finches went on their final trip to Laaksolahti sports park. We spent the day playing in the park, enjoying a picnic and playing fun team games together. The Finches did very well and we are very proud of all of them, especially as the trip was long and it was a raining a little too.
This year has been filled with many happy moments, exciting experiences, and wonderful learning opportunities for the Finches. Throughout the year, the Finches explored different themes, learned new things and showed great curiosity about the world around them.
As we come to the end of this wonderful academic year, we would like to say how proud we all are of our little Finches .They have grown so much in confidence, kindness, creativity ,and independence throughout the year. It has been a joy to watch them learn, explore, laugh, and create so many happy memories together.
From exciting classroom activities and celebrations to outdoor adventures, music, stories, and special events, every moments has been filled with learning and happiness. The Finches have shown curiosity, friendship, and enthusiasm in everything they have done, and we will remember these beautiful memories for a long time.
Thank you to all the families for your continuous support, kindness and cooperation throughout the year. Your support has meant so much to us and helped make this year truly special. Although it is difficult to say goodbye, we are so excited for the Finches as they will begin a new adventure in the Hawks classroom . We wish all our Finches and their families a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, laughter, and relax holidays!
We will truly miss our amazing Finches and wish them all the very best for the future.
