A new academic year has begun, and we are so happy to welcome all the children back to daycare! It has been lovely to see familiar faces again, hear about everyone’s adventures, and watch the children settle back into our daily routines.
The beginning of the year is always a special time. We are getting to know each other, building new friendships, and creating a sense of belonging in our group. Through play, stories, songs, outdoor adventures, and everyday moments together, the children are already filling our days with laughter and curiosity.
The first topic we have focused on is on personal hygiene, we have been talking about the importance of washing our hands and why is soap so important through fun activities and science experiments.
Movement and Fun 🤸‍♀️🌟
We have already started our gym sessions at Kamaleonten, where the children have the opportunity to use the gymnastics space to exercise, explore movement, and learn new skills.
The children have been busy trying out lots of different activities! We have been balancing on the beam, climbing and hanging from the climbing frames sideways like Spiderman️. We have also been practicing our rolls and having lots of fun bouncing on the trampolines.
These sessions are a great way for the children to develop their balance, coordination, strength, confidence, and body awareness, while having fun.
It has been wonderful to see the children challenge themselves, try something new, and proudly show us what they can do. We are looking forward to many more active and exciting gym sessions throughout the year!
Fire Station! 🚒🔥
We had a very exciting Fire Safety Week at daycare! The children learned about fire safety through stories, discussions, practical activities, and lots of hands-on fun.
We practiced how to evacuate safely in case of a fire by taking part in a fire drill. We also read books about fire trucks and fire stations and learned the important emergency number to call if we ever need help.
To wrap up our fire safety week, we visited the fire station, where we got to see the fire truck up close and learn more about the important work firefighters do. The children were especially excited to climb inside the fire truck and even had the chance to put out some pretend fires using real water and a hose! 💦🚒
As a special thank-you, we made a big card together at daycare and gave it to the firefighters to show our appreciation for all the important work they do to keep our community safe. ❤️
