In the last six weeks, the Finches have been very busy learning playing, and having fun together! We have done so many nice things and we are happy to share with you a little about our time.
We started with recycling. The children learned how we can use waste materials in a fun way. We used boxes, bottles, and paper to build and create new things. With a little imagination , we made cool projects .
The Finches also practiced their fine motor skills. We did Art & crafts, played with water, and used our hand skills a lot . They really enjoyed playing, especially with water!
We also celebrated laskiaispäivä! We made decorations and crafts and turned our classroom into a party . Everyone worked together and had a great time with friends. During these weeks, we also talked about feelings. The children played with paints, mixed colors, and we talked about what feeling each color could show. It was a nice way for them to learn about emotions and try to explain why it feels that way.
During our international week we had lots of fun learning about different countries. We played games, we danced, we baked and listened to stories from Ireland, Portugal, Finland, Ethiopia, India and Spain. The children colored the flags from their countries and shared about their own background. It was very special to see how much we can learn from each other’s cultures.

We also had our first library trip! Finches where excited to choose books to bring to the daycare and use the bookmark they made with our lovely student . All finches did very well in the library, as well as, walking from daycare to sello.
To get ready for Easter, we made our own Easter branch for ” virvon varvon” and we planted Easter grass. The children are taking care of the grass every day and watering it too. They are excited to see how much it will grow.
At the end of last week we also said goodbye to our student. We were happy to have her with us, and we will miss her. The children made a lovely card and painting. They said thank you and gave her hugs.
These six weeks were full of joy, learning, and love. We are very proud of our Finches and we can’t wait what new adventures will come next.
