Hello dear reader,
It’s been a loooooong time without updating you about the Puffins’ agenda. We have welcomed a new month, October, the month of the lights, spooky costumes and specially the month of the leaves, since Autumn has arrived. You are probably wondering what has been happening in the Club, and let me tell you Puffins have been involved in many activities and moments.
In the previous weeks, children have been settling with their new class and friends, and they have loved exploring every corner of their class and the daycare. Throughout the weeks they have been immersed in several sensory activities such as beads, water play, painting and sensory table. Alongside these sensory activities, we had safety week. During this week Puffins got to learn about how to evacuate from a fire, what we can do and we can’t do when we see fire, as well as experiencing to be a firefighter with an indoors gym teachers created where they could jump, crawl and extinguish a fire; ending the week with a fire drill in which they behaved very well and followed teachers’ instructions.

Although at the beginning these little Puffins were very shy just wanting to have teachers’ comfort and to be by their side, they have been taking an adventure in exploring what we can call their social skills. Of course they are very young to now about terms such as friendship, emotions and feelings, but our hearts melt (and it is so cute too) when we see them seeking for interaction and giving hugs with other children. Moreover, one day we had the chance to visit the upstairs yard and Puffins enjoyed playing with Penguins and Parrots. Last week, teachers decided to go on an adventure with Puffins and took them to the nearby forest and children couldn’t enjoyed more. They were amazed by all the trees, bushes and big rocks they saw. This trip was all about laughs and happiness and even they got to practice their gross motor skills by running with teachers as well as climbing and jumping from big rocks. It was such a great trip!! But this wasn’t the only adventure, we went for the first time to the gym and children loved the new space and explored it around by running, playing with balls as well as the sensory mats. Finally, we had parents coffee event where parents came to visit their children and they enjoyed having snack together as well as playing for some time.

I think we have updated you with plenty of details, hope you have liked it. And in case you are wondering what will happen in the upcoming weeks here you have a sneak peek of Puffins’ agenda: Pyjama day, Diwali celebration, Halloween party and preparations for Fathers Day coffee. Yes, were are all thinking the same: Puffins will have incredible new experiences and we are looking forward for them. See you next time dear reader, let’s continue sailing with Puffins.
